Eazy Peazy Quilts - it's all in the details

New company puts emphasis on cute yet useful and unique patterns

DAVENPORT, Fla. – October 10, 2010 – In 2009 Margaret Travis realized a dream of starting her own company to publish patterns for quilters and sewers who want to expand the use of their skills. Travis chose to concentrate on unique yet functional designs and so was born the Eazy Peazy Quilts line of patterns for quilters and sewers.

The one-of-a-kind designed patterns, each employing materials and techniques not usually associated with quilting, are available to make purses, purse accessories and other useful items...two examples standout.

First is the use of Texture Magic™ from Superior Threads to give a textured surface to the quilted parts of the Eazy Peazy’s Heavenly Textured Handbag and Second Heaven Handbag. Both patterns are feminine, stylish and unique making the handbags perfect for gifts or personal use.

Secondly and one of the newest Eazy Peazy patterns, the Divine Diamonds Handbag, incorporates a diamond design made with the Double Diamond Ruler from Bright Notions. This design has already made fans among quilt shop owners though its introduction was just this fall.

Eazy Peazy also has a line of patterns for those in wheelchairs or who use walkers named Eazier Livin’. Travis said the idea came to her when she realized some people who have some difficulty getting around often can use a bit of help, “Making every day a little easier.” The Eazier Livin’ patterns for a Sassy Smock, Stroller or Wheelchair Backpack and Walker Saddlebag are distinctive and useful with growing popularity. The Backpack and Saddlebag patterns can be adapted for men, an often forgotten segment of the market. Women enjoy being able to make a bit of a fashion statement with their walkers and wheelchairs and by wearing the Sassy Smock.

Travis began sewing as a young girl in Ohio and gradually added to her sewing skills while also becoming an accomplished knitter, creative needlepoint pattern designer and award-winning quilter. This background gives her an understanding of the importance of quality patterns. That’s why Eazy Peazy’s slogan is “Sew So Easy”. The patterns are written to take the user through the process step by step to completion making them adaptable to all skill levels.

Each pattern, in addition to specifying fabric types and quantities and exactly the correct additional items, has clearly written step by step numbered directions and helpful graphics to achieve the ‘Designer Look.’

Travis commented, “To my mind that’s what we are all about. Exciting, feminine and fun patterns for handbags, accessories and other useful items that can be given as gifts or used personally.”

She continued, “We believe in complete and thoroughly tested instructions. They are as vital and important to us as they are to our pattern users so we invest significant time and money to produce some of the best illustrated and most clearly written patterns on the market. Plus we stand behind them with same day replies to any questions. After all, we want to live up to our name, Eazy Peazy.”
